What we publish

  • Regulator profiles — who they are, who runs them, what they actually do, where they sit in the enforcement chain. Not encyclopedia summaries — primary-source profiles updated when leadership or remit changes.
  • Enforcement registries — every publicly known fine in a jurisdiction, with the article cited, the amount, the breach description, and the fate of the decision in court.
  • Pillar explainers — what each regulation actually requires: timelines, duties, risk classes, penalties. Plain language, no loss of precision.
  • News — court decisions, regulator pronouncements, new laws, editorial commentary.

Editorial principles

Every fact has a source

No reconstruction from memory, no marketing fluff, no wiki copy-paste. Each name, date, fine amount, and article number links to a primary document — regulator publications, court decisions, EUR-Lex, national official journals, or signed editorial press from the relevant country.

What we will not cite

Wikipedia, GDPRhub, HandWiki, Fandom and similar wiki-style projects — by their own design they are crowdsourced without editorial verification. GlobeNewswire, Business Wire, PR Newswire and similar paid press-release wires — these are corporate self-distribution under a "newswire" brand, not editorial journalism. We audit before publishing

Every regulator profile, enforcement registry, and pillar explainer goes through an independent fact-check before publication — every cited primary source is re-checked, every name and number cross-referenced. Errors that surface after publication are documented on the erratum page with the date and nature of the fix.

This is research, not legal advice

klarproof exists to make EU regulation easier to understand. We are not lawyers, and reading a klarproof post is not a substitute for counsel. If you are making compliance decisions for a real organisation, talk to a qualified lawyer in the relevant jurisdiction.

Who we are

klarproof is published by Loovl OÜ, an Estonian company building privacy-friendly tooling for the EU market. Loovl also publishes the privacy-friendly web analytics product Pulse on a separate domain.

The compliance hub is editorially independent from the analytics product. It does not function as a marketing channel. We link to Pulse only where the topic of a post is directly relevant (analytics, cookies, ePrivacy).

Languages

The master version of every post is written in English. Russian mirrors are produced in lockstep with the English original — facts must match across both languages exactly. We do not run unverified machine translations into other EU languages; expansion happens only with native-speaker review.

klarproof is self-funded by Loovl OÜ. We do not take advertising, sponsored content, or paid placements. Where a post discusses a product Loovl publishes (Pulse Analytics), we disclose the relationship in the post itself.
